Chemistry Lab
“NATURE IS A VAST CHEMICAL LABORATORY IN WHICH ALL KINDS OF COMPOSITIONS & DECOMPOSITIONS ARE FORMED.”
The students of chemistry develop their thought process based on experiments conducted in the lab. The task of analytical chemistry is to develop and provide experimental methods of determining the chemical composition of the substances. The chemistry laboratory provides practical procedure of analytical chemistry.
The reaction studied in theory becomes very clear when the student performs the experiment in the chemistry laboratory by adding the reactants.
Studying chemistry is essential to understand better the world in which we live. Chemical principles are playing key roles in diverse areas such as weather patterns, functioning of brain and operation of computers. So, it is difficult to imagine our life without chemistry and laboratory is the sole source of understanding all activities.
The salient features of chemistry lab: –
- Significant number of charts available in the lab indicate processes for large scale preparation of various metals and important compounds such as Caustic soda, Sodium chloride etc.
- For the safety of the students, important preventive instructions are given to them and very strictly observed & implemented while working in the chemistry lab.
- The lab always maintains sufficient number of equipments and quantity of chemicals required in qualitative analysis.
- The Lab is adequately equipped with the apparatus for performing all such practicals as prescribed in syllabi by the C.B.S.E. related to volumetric analysis, experiments related to chromatography, surface chemistry, chemical kinetics and thermochemistry etc.
In the lab, students prepare projects on medicines, quantity of casein in milk and adulterants in fats, oils, butter, sugar, turmeric powder, chilly powder and pepper.
